Free Grocery Shopping Services for Seniors in Delaware County

During the COVID-19 pandemic, The County of Delaware Services for the Aging (COSA) and Community Transit are partnering to offer Delaware County seniors an alternative to in-person grocery shopping. Community Transit drivers are available to get grocery lists and payment from seniors and shop and deliver their items.

Seniors can stay in their homes. The cost of the shopping and delivery will be subsidized by COSA. To contact Community Transit for this service, email or if you do not have access to email call 215-900-2519.

Lower Chichester Township Public Hearing Notice
Monday, April 5, 2021 at 7:30 p.m.

NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Lower Chichester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania (the "Township"), has scheduled a telephonic public hearing for April 5, 2021, beginning at 7:30 P.M. The hearing will be held to comply with the provisions of the Municipality Authorities Act, 53 Pa. C.S. §5601 et seq., as amended and supplemented, in connection with the desire of the Board of Commissioners of the Township to form a municipal authority by adopting an implementing ordinance as authorized by 53 Pa. C.S. §5603. The municipal authority would be known as the "Lower Chichester Township Municipal Authority" and would be formed for the purposes of acquiring, holding,. constructing, financing, improving, maintaining and operating, owning, leasing, either in· the capacity of lessor or lessee, projects of the following kind and character, sanitary sewers, sanitary sewer systems or parts thereof, sanitary sewerage conveyance and treatment works, including works for the conveyance, treating and or disposing of industrial waste, and waste water conveyancing and distribution systems, flood control projects, storm water planning, management and implementation, storm water collection, conveyancing and transportation, both in the Township and the surrounding region and such other territory as it may be authorized to serve and to contract with individuals, corporations, municipal corporations, authorities, and other governmental bodies or regulatory agencies both within and without the County of Delaware, and it shall exercise all of the powers granted to an Authority organized for such purpose by the Municipality· Authorities Act under which it is organized.

Members of the public interested in presenting any views with respect to the Township's intention to form the proposed municipal authority are invited to attend the hearing by telephone and to present their views. Please call the Township at 610-485-1472 the day of the hearing for the call-in information or consult the Township website for information.

This notice is authorized by the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Lower Chichester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
